Bear poem

Naughty bear has scratched his head.
He's thought of words from A to Z,
He's writing poems in a shed,
They might be better, it must be said
If he wrote them from his bed.
Oh that bear, he likes to be fed
With biscuits and nutella spread.
If he eats too much he will be dead.

closest I'll get to the main stage

this was the closest i ever got to the stage. small seal was worried about taking this picture in case security flipped her off site. thankfully everyone at greenbelt was so friendly that we took this picture okay.

my quest for nutella

i've been searching high and low across the whole of greenbelt for the whole weekend for some nutella.
first i searched at the pancake - sorry crepe - stall, but they offer no nutella. bears are not happy!

then there was the excellent Christian Aid cafe in the Performance Cafe - lots of wonderful chocolate cakes, muffins and tiffins to get my paws into. But no nutella in sight :(

then i visited the traidcraft tent, where i finally found some fairtrade nutella-like stuff, sadly all boxed up for a silent auction. here you can see me dreaming of what i could do with the stuff. yummy! but sadly i'm only a small bear and i've already spent my pocket money.
but if you want to buy me some, then you can click here to be taken to the traidcraft shop.

stop climate chaos

o
This lovely lady gave me a hug as long as i promised to encourage you to stop climate change. you can sign up by clicking on this link which will take you to the Tearfund site.

i've signed their petition and small seal has flipped our lightbulbs to low energy ones.

i've even been told we can get fairtrade nutella!yum yum - hopefully my quest to find some at Greenbelt will come true.

Bears and bright Sparks

Hello friends

I have had so much fun this weekend listening to lots of different kinds of music and meeting lots of people. Here is a picture of me and some up-and-coming musical superstars - Mr Tim Sparks and his fellow band-member Sarah. They are 2 members of 'Laughter of the Crowd' and Mr Tim said their website is laughterofthecrowd.co.uk. They have CDs for sale in the Greenbelt shop but under the name 'Walking Wounded.' I liked their music alot- really got my paws tapping, and I especially liked it when they invited me to sing with them on the busking spot. I don't have much of a singing voice - more of a growl really - but I did like it when Sarah danced with me!

I can hear music now coming through the door from outside. Maybe I can make friends with some more musicians, and maybe get their pawtograph.

bears and sheep

i like getting my paws into the countryside, so i couldn't resist the chance to visit greenbelt's wonderful petting zoo - lots of goats, turkeys, pigs, geese, ducks and sheep!
wonderful stuff. but unlike the day i visited the pigs in the cotswolds, sadly no one came up to say hello. as you can see the sheep look positively non-plussed by my furry features :(

BearBC

ooh, isn't it a lovely day for a music festival?
I've been a busy old bear - have you seen me on site yet?
I stopped for a while when I saw this - was it the bear broadcasting corporation? sadly not - i think there should be more programmes about bears like that big bear week. And cookery programmes featuring only nutella.

sunday morning

hello chums!
here we at the main stage - in daylight this time.
small seal said she wanted people to see that she was enjoying greenbelt too, so here she is!

we also enjoyed taking communion together with the thousands of other people on site - yet again there was no nutella :(

we enjoyed the wine so much that we're signing up for the wine tasting tonight in the traidcraft tent. see you there?

and if you see me on site, stop me and ask for a bear hug - my friends will take your picture and add it to our blog!

Watching Garth Hewitt

one of my greenbelt 'must dos' is to watch garth hewitt in a live performance, and here i am sitting on a stool in the performance cafe (after my hot choccy!) watching the great man perform.
i'm probably not as close to the stage as tea-bythesea would have liked, so after the gig i went up to me hewitt and gave him a bear hug!

a new career for bear?

i am thinking of trying to headline tonight - who needs blindside and daniel beddingfield?
so i had a quick growl on the busking zone. i sang algy met a bear and the bear went over the mountain but not enough people listened.
perhaps small seal should have been drumming with her flippers on an upturned empty nutella jar?

hot chocolate!

yum, yum, yum!
you can't beat hot chocolate to perk a bear up!

here i am enjoying a muffin with another mug in the performance cafe of greenbelt.
it was just what i needed. I'd said it was just my cup of tea, except it was hot chocolate.

i've not seen any nutella on site yet. i'm not a happy bear.

Rubbish? Not a bit of it!

here i am having fun with a sculpture created out of rubbish bins by christian aid!
it was nice to clamber in the bin and put my paws up.
i think the christian aid stall would have been better if they had been offering you some nutella biscuit sandwiches. yum yum!

Where's my temporary bear cave?

My tent is in there somewhere, i think! love bear xxx

no one likes us

i got up early this morning to go and hear a talk. It was called 'no one likes us, we don't care.'
I thought about trying to give everyone a bear hug, but sadly my paws aren't big enough to stretch round the whole room.

i'm sheltering from a shower now - but I can see blue clouds in the sky so sunshine is not far away!

have you seen me on site yet? if you have let me know!

Martyn Joseph in concert

Hello friends!
Thankfully it didn't rain until I was safely hibernating in my temporary bear cave last night.
Bearfore hibernating, I went to see Martyn Joseph in concert. Small Seal said she heard he'd sung about Dolphins, and wanted to know if he'd change his songs so they mentioned her instead. Small Seals make me cry ... hmmn.Sadly, there's lots of people at greenbelt, and being a small bear it meant I couldn't see the stage :(

However, I was able to get on someone's shoulders and was then able to see Mr Joseph sing. Thankfully he doesn't growl like a bear.
Although he is very tiny, he is singing here. Sadly for small seal, he didn't mention her.
maybe next time, eh?

Striking camp

Hello friends!
Hope your bank holiday is going well thus far. It feels like I've spent most of my day queueing and queueing - stuck in traffic jams, (sadly no nutella jams) and waiting to be allowed onto the camp site, it's been a long day.

But here I am putting my tent

and then testing my airbed - it's comfy!
I'm all ready for a stroll now. Look out for more from me all weekend

We're packed and ready to go!

Hello friends!
Small seal and I are soooooo excited! we're really looking forward to getting away from it all.
We've got our tent, our torch, our rug, our waterproofs, water and - quelle surprise! - nutella!

bearly there with my italian

Here I am brushing up on some italian while on a train into venice. the train was moving so fast that my paws could bearly keep the phrase book still. thankfully, I managed to work out what I wanted to ask: 'Posso avere un gelato di nutella prego?'
Can you guess what that means?

I'm getting very excited at my beary adventure this weekend - hope you are too! the weather forecast isn't looking quite so good, I hope my fur doesn't get all knotty and horrid. It can take ages to dry out :(

Exciting news

Hello friends
Just a quick post to let you know that I'm going on a special adventure next weekend - I've got my paws on tickets for a music festival and as a special treat, I'll be posting entries all weekend.

I'll continue telling you about my big adventure in venice this week, but look out for my special bank holiday adventure from friday. am not sure if I want it to be rainy - i've grown out of my last pair of wellies and don't want to get my fur muddy.

Canals, Bears and squares

It's been jolly nice to wander round the streets of Venice - every so often you come across lovely squares with some big sculptures to clamber up and hide behind.

But I like the bridges that go over the water, it makes me feel like I'm on one big adventure playground.

Can you see me in this picture? A virtual bear hug to the first person to spot me.

Inspecting the view

Hello again friends!
I enjoyed wondering round the Campanile tower in St Mark's Square once I got over my fear of heights.
But being up so high is no fun unless you can see what's out there, so I clambered up to the big binoclars to find the shops that sell nutella.

I also looked for new places to be a naughty bear in, but I think to get to them I have to speak some Italian.

Until the next time, ciao!

Bit high up!

Hello again friends. Well, here I am in Venice. A big virtual bear hug to those of you who guessed correctly. In fact, I'm up the Campanile tower in St Mark's Square. This man looked quite surprised at seeing a bear up a tower. I can't think why, can you?

It's the highest I've ever climbed and it was very windy! I was quite nervous being up so high.
But being up high, you can see for miles: lots of Venice to see as well. Can you see the sea? And more importantly, any shops that sell nutella?

Well that clever Mr Simon has spotted me again - did you see me hiding in the tree?

This time, I'm easier to spot. I'm waiting for a taxi, but this one goes only on water.
Have you guessed where I'm having an adventure in yet? It's a shame small seal didn't come with me, as she'd loved flipping her flippers in the water.

Where's Bear in Italy?

Well that clever Mr Simon has guessed that my flight went to Italy.
And you'll be pleased to know that the air stewardess didn't leave me locked to my seat for the whole flight. Sadly, she didn't bring me a nutella sandwich :(

When we arrived at our destination, I needed to stretch my paws, so I ran off and hid. Can you find me in this picture and do you know where I am yet?

Excited bears on planes (2)

All that naughty bouncing around was enough to catch the attention of the air stewardess. 'You can't take off like that,' she said. So she sat me down and buckled me in, ready to go to our next adventure. For a naughty bear, I can be very good sometimes.

I've been told that where we're going is very wet, and I won't be in a car anywhere we go. I might even get an nutella ice cream if I'm a very good bear, as it's a speciality of the country.

Hmmn... plenty to scratch your grizzly heads about. Anyone got any ideas? Write and let me know. A special virtual bear hug to the winner.

Excited bears on planes

Hello friends! I was on such an exciting adventure - I've never been on a plane before - that I was jumping up and down in my seat with excitement.
Unfortunately, I got too excited and ended up wedged in the gap. Grrrr! I had that sinking feeling, but the air stewardess came to rescue me.

Can you guess where I'm flying to yet?
Another clue tomorrow

Naughty bear hides again

Hello friends,
Did you find me in the last picture?

I like playing hide and seek, and while I was waiting for the plane to arrive, I hid again. I think this is a harder picture to look at this time. Can you see me?

When you have, why not send me a message to let me know! I'll tell you if you're right or not.
