Beary Christmas everyone!

Twas the night before the night before Christmas
And all through the house, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse
the reason for this seasonal pause
was simply that bear had nutella on his paws
he'd eaten loads all in his special way
to empty the larder for the big day

hello again!
time for some special christmas blog entries to wish you all, my millions of fans across the blogosphere a very happy Christmas!
here i am pictured above enjoying a little chat with a polar bear. sadly he didn't want to share his bottle of pop, which was a disappointment.

and here i am below, climbing up a christmas tree. small seal took the picture before i'd had the chance to hide and play a festive where's bear with you. never mind, there's always next year!

i've not had much of a chance to blog this month as my computer has been naughty and played up. it's better now and that means i can blog to my furry heart's content :)
so i'll be back again before Christmas is out.

Another day, another bed, another snooze!

one of the greatest things about ikea is all the beds. everywhere!
for a bear like me who enjoys powernapping, it was very handy to put my paws up every five minutes or so.

Ride 'em cowbear!

there are times when i wish you could see real video of my adbearntures. sadly, opportunities for bearvision are few and far between :(
so you'll have to imagine the fun i had whizzing around on these cow seats with wheels. knowing ikea, they're probably called barry or something, but i don't care, they were fun!
one of my nutella gatherers even span me round till i felt a little dizzy.

Bear in a bed (no change there)

there was bear in the bed and the little one 'roll over, roll over'
so they all rolled over and one fell out
they hit the ground and gave a shout
'Please remember to tie a knot in your pyjamas

On the plane home with a plane!

sniff... we had such a bearilliant time in germany that we really didn't want to come home. all those times when we played in the sand, hid in bushes and ate lots of nice cream and cake!
And of course, there was my wonderbar time with the nutella in the supermarket.
but we had to fly home, again with the lovely air bearlin people. and they liked bear and small seal so much that they even gave us a model plane to fly when we got home. You can see it in the picture!

One for the road

As I hinted at in my last entry, we have nearly reached the end of my big german adbearnture. And it has gone on for a long time hasn't it?! That's cos we had a lot of fun while we were there.
Small Seal and I spent our final day enjoying the very best in german cakes in a lovely small town cafe where everything was baked with love and care on the premises.
yum! is all i can say.
had to take the picture bearfore i got stuck it as it didn't last very long.

what bearter way to finish a day's sightseeing than a litre of german beer and a large plate of steak and chips? small seal had (quelle surprise) fish and chips. and they were both delicious.
it's taken quite some time, but we're nearly at the end of our german travels - a new adventure will start beary soon!

Bridge of wows!

Just look at this view behind me! what a thriling sight it was for a bear to bearhold. and to think that small seal and i climbed up to the castle and down again. and the view up there, as you've already seen was amazing too!

Coffee and cake for bears

mmmnn... can't beat some traditional german grub: coffee and cake. really enjoyed getting my paws into this loverly slice of cake and washing it down with some proper coffee.
and i ensured i had some nutella afterwards - don't think i'm going off it!

just look at the size of this biscuit! just imagine all the nutella you could smear on to all that! and how long it would take to eat it!
shame it's part of a statue, belonging to a strange cat-like creature. still, at least he posed nicely for me

sheeeeeeeeep!

while i was walking up to the splendid, splendid view, i saw some friendly mountain sheep. they were a little nervous of me, so they didn't come up and let me stroke them, which was a real shame.
but they were lovely and made a little bear very happy :)

Which is the better mode of transport?

well, which one would you want to travel in? a longboat (seal wasn't able to row very effectively so we didn't get anywhere!) or a beetle (which had been turned into a flower pot so wouldn't go anywhere?)

Playing in the sand

Kicked off facebook!

i'm an extremely cross bear today. facebook has decided to disable my account for no good reason at all :(

i'm the latest of a number of friends who have been kicked off simply because they're cute and furry. have the people behind facebook never had a bear hug in their lives before? were they deprived of the love that a good bear can bring them?

pah and bah! is all i can say. facebook is not nice at all.

our visit to mosbach was great fun as everywhere we went there was something interesting to see or do!

here you can see small seal and i having a go on a see saw, holding on to each other to ensure that we wouldn't fall off.

doggy bear hug fun!

hello again friends,

i've kept you all on beary tenterhooks while you've been waiting to see who i made friends with... well, all can now be revealed.
there's something in the water! it's my new friend Eugenie, busy fetching sticks

we were being taken for a walk along the banks of the
great Mississippi river... great fun. it was wonderful to go for a run around in the woods.
you can't see me in the below picture cos i was looking for a place to hide, but my nutella gatherer was so busy admiring eugenie's stick fetching tricks that the moment got missed :(
but i was there! and it was a blast!


and then we got home, dried off, cleaned paws, had a snooze and enjoyed a bear/doggy hug.
you couldn't ask for a better end to the trip.
sadly, that's the end of my great bear adventure in the big ol' us of a.
it's been great fun and i've seen things that small bears normally only dream of.

hope i don't get too much jet leg when i get back home.

nutella on toast at the caffe tempo

i really fancied some nutella on toast ... and washed down with a French
Roast Caffe Latte. So i popped down to a great coffee shop Caffe
Tempo on the corner of Grand Avenue and 42nd Street in Minneapolis.
this was a wonderful little spot with friendly people.
not only was i treated like royalty (well, i am a famous bear!) and given great toast and great coffe, but i was also given some hugs from the friendly staff.
oh, and they also had free WiFi, just right for keeping tabs on what's going on at home.

oh dear, you can tell that bear doesn't let me update the blog very often. instead of getting to post a picture of me snuggling down to mr will smith, you got jerry springer instead. silly seal. here we are, here's me with will smith! not sure who else we're standing with, but she didn't have much to say for herself so i never did find out. if you know, please me know. i'll have to tell bear.

Reading with Randy...

you'll know by now that bears are usually very cultured, and that means staying abreast of current affairs, even when one is travelling. here i am catching up on a stopover in Minneapolis. the Star Tribune is a great read, but some of the words where a bit big for bears, and as for the size of the paper: well, as you can see, i had to fold it small to take it all in. i'm only a wee bear you know!
thankfully, someone was on hand to help me get to grips with it, none other than Randy, a journalist on that very fine paper.

i loved my time with Randy, as he had some other friends he wanted to introduce me to.

After all the excitement of seeing myself and others in the big beany thing, i decided it was time to returning to my hotel for some r&r.

but i didn't fancy a bear snooze, so i decided to play with my new iPhone and catch up on an episode of Heroes. Very cool :)

small seal's night on the town

as you know, bear has fled the nest for a while in his big bear adventure in chicago. don't think i've not noticed his flirting with anyone and everyone in his quest for a bearhug. just wait till he gets home .... lol!

i decided that rather than stay at home and wait patiently for his safe return, i'd go on my own adventure, to the big smoke. so here i am mingling with the stars. i'll carry on hijacking bear's blog for a few days to let you see who i've met.

facebook bear crisis

it's been brought to the attention of many bears on facebook that their accounts are being deleted ruthlessly ... simply bearcause they're bears.
this is a shocking state of affairs. i've made many wonderful new friends on there and suddenly they're starting to dissapear simply bearcause they're cute and furry. what's wrong with us?
i hope facebook stops deleting us ... we'll still want to give them a hug.

bean there, done that...

wow, isn't this a great picture? i think my nutella gatherer did a great job with this. i'm now at the Cloud Gate, a sculpture made of stainless steel and highly polished.

bearcause i'm so wonderful and furry, i managed to convince some innocent bystanders (some are pictured above giving me a bear hug!) to stand in a square while i lay down in the middle and looked up.

explaining opera ... in a thunderstorm

After all the excitement of hiding in the conference ballroom, i decided it was time to go for a stroll and see what Chicago has to offer. It's got a fantastic open air concert hall in the form of the Jay Pritzker Pavilion. And while i was there, there was some opera going on.
it was very exciting because there was a real thunderstorm part way through - which
only added to the drama of the performance but it did mean that everyone got rather wet. well apart from me, as i'm small enough to hide under a seat and stayed bone dry!

Afterwards i managed to get some hugs from some music students who
took the time and trouble to explain the intricacies of the opera story to me. it was very
fascinating - and very cuddly!

where's bear?

i love hiding - can you spot me? a virtual bear hug for the first person to spot me...
i'm somewhere in the the largest ballroom in the United States ... it's the McCormick Place Skyline Ballroom which is a massive 100,000 square feet! The picture shows about a quarter of it and gives plenty of places for a naughty bear to hide.
