Greenbelt: Bear meets GP Taylor

it was a special moment for me this afternoon as i came paw to paw with the great writer gp taylor. he enjoyed giving me a bear hug and a bookmark for his new book, mariah mundi.
in return, i enjoyed showing him my wonderful blog, which he enjoyed very much indeed!

greenbelt: phoning home

as you know small seal has stayed at home for this big bear adventure. she's been busy splashing her flippers about in a lovely cool paddling pool and generally enjoying the sunshine. surprise, surprise, last night she had pilchards on toast for tea and slipped a kipper for breakfast.
how do i know all this? well, I was on the phone to her earlier today. i was so excited to speak to her that i nearly dropped the phone, hence this nutella gatherer helping me out.

Bear's big washing adventure!

The one thing about going to a muddy greenbelt is that it you can get your paws rather dirty and your fur becomes smelly. so when small seal and i got back, our nutella gatherers promised us a special treat to help us clean up.
we were rather surprised when they put us inside this strange contraption, and covered in soapy water. At first we thought it would be alright, but then everything span round rather fast.
we both got very dizzy and even small seal felt like a bear with a sore head when it had finished. however, our indignity was not over yet. Our nutella gatherers had another, slightly embarassing, treat left for us...

Hungry bears

Well, my time at Greenbelt is finally at an end. But I had a fantastic time and met lots of new friends. Including this delightful non-nutella gatherer who sent me on the way with some fish and chips from the chippy. Yummy!
It beat what my nutella gatherer had from the grande bouffe - some half-baked cold potato/white wine and fancy sausage monstrosity. I did think about offering to go and growl on the stall holders, but the chips were down and i had to scoff 'em.

don't worry, i let small seal enjoy some fish. she got stuck in and gave them her seal of approval.

and with that, we were strapped into the bearmobile and driven home - where we immediately prepared for a new adventure...

Chocolate!

mmmmnn! more chocolate than a bear can handle was on display at greenbelt. sadly no nutella like substances, but i'm still a sucker for great chocolate.
the stall run by divine chocolate had a chocolate fountain, but my nutella gatherers wouldn't let me put my paws into it in case i made a mess. they said my fur would get all matted and they would have trouble washing it out. honestly! don't they know anything? i'd just lick it off and it wouldn't be a problem.

still, those nice people at divine let me try a sample or several of their new dark chocolate. and best of all, they tell me that the people who make the cocoa beans from which it was made get paid a proper price for it. it's called something like fairtrade. i hate thinking that my nutella gatherers are eating chocolate that actually cost someone something to make.
